Language courses
In order to provide a maximum of individual attention to each participant, classes are held in small groups (five participants maximum) or on a one-on-one basis. In order to assure that each lesson and your time is spent effectively, trainings take place directly in your office and for a minimum of two hours per week.
Courses are designed practically and specifically according to your needs and wants while taking your current level of proficiency into account. The individualized program provides the basis for lesson planning tailor-made to your requirements.
This is the perfect for brushing up or mastering your language skills. I also offer specific preprations, e.g. in the context of job applications. Moreover, my services include preparatory courses for specific exams such as the Cambridge First Certificate, the IELTS Test or the BEC Vantage Exam.
Course program
All language courses are based on a program allowing you to select your focal points and define your own individual learning objectives. Choose any combination of the points that you are interested in to create your own tailor-made language training!
The key to learning success is breaking the process down into three steps. After each step you will have time to study and absorb the new material before the next lesson. The three steps are as follows:
- Step 1: Working out the theoretical background of the point in question together in class.
(e.g. keywords and formation of tenses, phrases for telephoning and small talk, new words for articles and technical terminology)
- Step 2: Applying the new subject matter by the use of specific exercises.
(e.g. fill-in exercises for grammar, clozes, completion tests, odd one out, board and card games)
- Step 3: Putting theory into practice. Using the selected point while speaking freely.
(e.g. summarizing articles in your own words, role plays or discussions)

GRAMMAR
Learn or brush up main grammar points – such as the use of tenses, active & passive voice, sentence structure, reported speech and if-clauses. This special grammar review is based on a structured approach reinforced with plenty of examples and exercises!
SMALL TALK
Learn the most common phrases for the every-day use of the foreign language! Get to know some ice-breakers and the "art" of small talk as a technique. Practice role-plays in every-day situations, such as business dinner, booking flights and tickets, shopping, asking for the way, making reservations etc.
TELEPHONING
Get to know the most important telephone phrases and the use of the national and international spelling alphabet! Act out company-specific situations by the use of effective role-plays!
CONVERSATION
Become proficient in expressing your opinion in the foreign language based on the reading of articles. After having established a profound basis for conversation, practice debating, discussing, negotiating and convincing through case studies and role plays!
INTERVIEWING
Learn how to draft a cover letter, resume and thank you letter. Prepare for the most common interview questions using impressive action verbs, and give your professional image the winning finishing touch! Practise for your job interview in role-plays to prepare yourself for the real-life situation.
SPEECH COMMUNICATION
Exercise speaking extemporaneously and fluently, and find out about effective speech and presentation techniques! Practise introduction and conclusion techniques and learn how to answer tricky questions. A list of useful phases will give your next presentation the necessary professional edge.
TECHNICAL TERMINOLOGY
Enrich your vocabulary, and train in the use of the specific vocabulary that is required in your company! Find out about useful methods to study vocabulary with a long-term effect.
COMMERCIAL CORRESPONDENCE
Acquire the main phrases used in commercial correspondence and learn how to draw up an inquiry, offer, order or complaint! Enrich your vocabulary with useful phrases for writing e-mails and get to know the most important abbreviations. Learn how to implement the trend "plain English" and master your writing style.
TRANSLATING
Study translating strategies while emphasizing the sentence structure of the foreign language, and master your skill in conveying the meaning of a text! In addition, practice your translating skills by the use of bi-lingual texts.

Establish a feeling for the foreign language using playful methods and group dynamics to train your language skills in the four categories speaking, reading, listening and comprehending.
